Show Description

Plans are well under way for Blackpool´s fifth and most exciting Pride festival yet. This year once again sees our event relocate right into the heart of the gay village. Dickson Road will become the Pride enclosure and will play host to an amazing main stage, marquees with stands providing information on the wide range of services on offer to our community, traditional Pride markets, the return of ´Clitty Rub Quick´ in our Women´s Area and even funfair rides are thrown in. Coinciding with Eurovision weekend we have a fantastic homage to this campest of international traditions and a whole host of British entries and past contestants are performing in a massive concert. The line up is expected to be amazing as ever. This show, in the Flamingo on the Saturday afternoon, will run simultaneously with an outdoor main stage providing non stop entertainment and celebrity PA´s with the likes of Toyah, Hannah Jones, appearing previously and all our talented local venue and drag artistes. Showcases from dance troops such as ´The Producers´ Sword dancers, Britain´s Got Talent contestants the works all took part in last years event!
All our venues including Mardi Gras, Pepes, Taboo and Time Out are planning their own programmes of entertainment and there is going to be too much to get round!!
In the evening the Pride enclosure gives way to the Saturday night of all times!! Blackpool will come to life for the party of the year!!
Our ´Golden Mile´ Carnival Procession, this year, sees the Promenade awash with camp and colour on the Sunday at 12.30pm so hangovers are strictly forbidden!! After the parade we all make our way back to the pubs and clubs for a bumper afternoon of fun and frivolity.
To close the weekend off we are having the most poignant of closing ceremonies with the help of one of our local LGBT Choirs and Liberty Church.
